Dangerous Inattention to Reality

I've been a football fan for, oh, let's say 30 years or so. I've lived in Atlanta for nearly eight years. And just this past week, I finally realized: the falcon that's (with some variation) adorned the Atlanta Falcons' helmets since they entered the league in the 1960s -- is actually a stylized "F" (for falcon, one hopes).

Next week: Greg learns what the "NY" on the Yankees' caps means.

At some point in my childhood I announced to my older sister that I had just realized that the Philadelphia Flyers symbol was "a P with wings". She laughed at me for a week. I can still hear her mocking voice "it's a P with wiiiinnngs".

You're lucky you don't know my sister.

Holy shit-- I never noticed the bottle actually read "Regret" until I just clicked on it!

The "regret" photo was actually the same night that the Post-Pessimist Association name came into play. Really quite a milestone.

I've yet to open the bottle of Regret -- I'm saving it for a really special occasion (what, I don't know, but presumably something where I'm feeling very regretful).

I think you'll all be pronouncing that as "fail-cans" before season's end. Greetings!

Actually, I just now realized that Brushback's comment was likely a play on the theme of the post.

I don't feel very smart right now.
